"The move comes a week after a video showing Thakur standing up to local BJP workers went viral. Thakur and her team had pulled up local party leader Pramod Lodhi for not carrying proper documentation for his vehicle. He was issued a challan after which he allegedly misbehaved with cops, leading to his arrest. When Lodhi was produced before the district court, a group of BJP workers at the scene began abusing and raising slogans against the police. In the video, Thakur can be seen soundly telling off the arguing BJP workers. We are doing our duty and then we see this kind of dharna against us," Thakur had said. She then arrested five other BJP workers for obstructing an officer from discharging government duties. The workers also alleged that Lodhi was arrested because he refused to pay a bribe of Rs 2,000 to the cops, but Thakur had refuted the claim.
