CUTTACK: The demonetisation of currencies of higher denomination failed to dampen the spirit of revellers as over one lakh visitors thronged to the historic Baliyatra fair on its opening day on Monday. "There is no cause to worry as I have withdrawn Rs 5000 from the bank for Baliyatra shopping. Money is not a problem at all as many traders are accepting Rs 500 and Rs 1000 denomination notes too," said Mausumi Das, a college student. "The overwhelming response of customers gave traders a reason to smile too. From traditional household items like brooms and 'chaki' to latest electronic gadgets, the fair has a lot to offer.
