Opposition members alleged that the devices were procured without floating a tender.Distributing iPads to corporators was one of the promises in the BBMP’s 2018-19 budget. “I want the corporators to check tender process, allotment, issuing of work order, work progress online. I will do it soon,” a corporator said.Though the BBMP had initially planned to organise a training programme for using the iPads, the plan has taken a backseat. “After noticing that most of the corporators did not carry the device to the last council meeting, I asked them the reason for their lethargy. We expect corporators to catch up with the changing world,” he said.
