United have learnt lessons from last year's taxing tour when they travelled to four different states and played in three different time zones. United avoided the zig-zagging (from New Jersey to San Diego to Houston to San Diego to Las Vegas) that undermined their preparations for last season. United players and officials flew back to England straight after the game on Saturday evening. After last year's three-match Stateside tour, United flew a shadow squad over to Dublin. As serene as United's tour has been, a dressing room source noted that "the proof will be in the pudding".
