NEW DELHI: There seems to be an unexpected delay on the part of BJP announcing the names of contestants for the first phase of polls.The central election committee headed by party chief Amit Shah and attended by PM Narendra Modi met at the party headquarters here on Wednesday but there was no announcement of the final list of names till Thursday.While BJP insiders said the list was finalised on Wednesday, they pointed out that with some time to go for nominations to be filed on November 21, there was "no hurry" in announcing the names. Congress too is yet to come out with its candidate list for the first phase of polling on December 9.Meanwhile, BJP declared the names of six candidates for the Karnataka legislative council polls, due shortly.
