There were 12 electoral constituencies in the ward in 2012 but the number has come down to 11 after delimitation. Of these, six are reserved for women, while five are for the general category.Ghatkopar, with a sizeable chunk of Gujarati voters , has a strong BJP following. The party has fielded two Gujarati candidates—Parag Shah from ward 132 and Bindu Trivedi from ward 130. In ward 130, Trivedi claimed, "There is a lot of support amongst all communities. "Shah, a builder by profession and the richest candidate in the city, is pitted against Congress strongman Pravin Chheda.
