How is the driving experience compared to the standard Baleno ? Both the front and the rear bumpers have been redesigned for a squat, sharp and racy look.To keep things interesting on the side profile, the Baleno RS gets black-painted alloys and side skirts. Though the Baleno RS is sure-footed at high speeds, the 195/55 section tyres tend to squeal and squirm when taking hard corners and could do with more grip to suit the RS badge.Maruti officials say that the 5-speed transmission on the Baleno RS is a different, heavier unit when compared to the one in the standard Baleno. The direct injection engine in the Baleno RS delivers 21.1kmpl which is just 0.3 kmpl lesser than the regular Baleno. At Rs 8.69 lakh, the Baleno RS costs Rs 1.4 lakh over the top-end Alpha variant of the regular Baleno, which is at least Rs 40,000 more than what was anticipated.
