Share TweetBy Vanne Elaine TerrazolaA bill seeking the reorganization of the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) to better respond to the needs of persons with disabilities (PWDs) has been filed in Senate. 108, or the proposed National Commission on Disability Affairs Act, which seeks to institutionalize the NCDA into a National Commission on Disability Affairs. Under Zubiri’s bill, a National Commission on Disability Affairs shall be created to define the powers of the NCDA. Zubiri also proposed that the commission shall have regional directors to oversee activities of the Persons with Disability Affairs Office established by the local government units (LGUs).
