Sanjeev Kumar VermaPatna: The Patna zoo administration has set the ball rolling to set up a rhino breeding centre and would invite bids from agencies interested to develop the facility. An area of 5.5 acres has been earmarked on the zoo premises where the breeding centre would be developed. The Centre has provided Rs 3.62 crore for the project, which has been approved by the Central Zoo Authority. The foundation stone of the breeding centre was laid last year. The need for developing a rhino breeding centre was felt because of congestion in the existing rhino enclosure, which is spread over 1.5 acres.
