The controversy surrounding the London Zoo exposes one of the fundamental dilemmas associated with conservation. The Romans, considered to be a civilized people, loved the Arena where wild animals were pitted against gladiators. Did it occur to the authorities at the London Zoo that the lions may not appreciate the music of Dua Lipa?
