Palmerston North's first Zinefest is on Saturday at Snails: Artist Run Spaces. The Palmerston North Zinefest promises a wild range of strange and wonderful art, creative writing, manifestos, comics, rants, raves, collages and drawings. The festival and market celebrates local writers and artists, and showcases zines, comics and do-it-yourself print. There is also a Zinefest exhibition at Snails, featuring stallholders, contributing artists and writers, with an opening event and poetry reading on Friday at 6pm. Artist and member of the Zinefest organising team Alice Fennessy said making a zine was a radical act.
