For allegedly asking for a bribe years back, a police officer assigned to the Zimmerman police station in Kasarani Division is charged with graft. The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission detained the officer sometime this week in order to investigate corruption allegations. The Police Inspector was arrested after the Director of Public Prosecutions agreed to the EACC's recommendations to file two counts of Soliciting and Receiving a Bribe against the Police Inspector. ''All public authorities are held in trust for the people,'' the EACC emphasized, and they must recognize this''. The commission stated, "Corruption, whether petty or grand, hurts the public and impedes national prosperity in many ways."
