Zespri is on the hunt for leaders who might guide the kiwifruit industry into the future. Participants will be mentored by a Zespri board member, attend an Institute of Directors course, travel to a Zespri market overseas and receive media training. Ultimately, participants may end up as a Zespri director, said Mayston, 40. John Cook, Zespri director of the remuneration committee, said they wanted people with an "industry-good mindset" capable of making decisions for everyone.
