“Never trust — always verify” is the dictum of zero trust. Zero trust was first coined by John Kindervag when he was still with Forrester Research in 2010. Implementing zero trust is no picnic though. Zero trust architecture on the other hand, dictates the creation of “micro perimeters” and consequently, in order to achieve such, you would need more “segmentation gateways,” i.e. After applying the zero trust architecture and policy, continuous monitoring, maintenance and fine-tuning is also mandatory so that the architecture can adapt to the ever-changing attack landscape.
