ZAMBOANGA CITY: The local government has received some P2 million worth of chicken and one thousand bags of flour donated by the Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative and the San Miguel Consolidated Power Corporation. Gannymede Tiu, general manager of the Zamboanga City Electric Cooperative (Zamcelco), handed over the donation to Vice Mayor Rommel Agan at city hall. All donations go directly to the Zamboanga City Social Welfare and Development Office which is solely in-charge in distributing them to beneficiaries. San Miguel Consolidated Power Corporation is one of several suppliers of electricity to Zamcelco. Ramon Ang, president and chief operating officer of San Miguel Corporation, said the donation will supplement the local government units’ food rations and provide added nutrition needed to help keep citizens healthy against the Covid-19 pandemic.
