Zamboanga port to pilot anti-scalping driveZAMBOANGA CITY: The Department of Transportation (DoTr) has designated the port of this highly urbanized coastal city as Mindanao’s pilot area in its nationwide campaign to eliminate the worsening scalping activities by unscrupulous persons. Zamboanga Philippine Ports Authority Operations Chairman Gezrel Gesulgon told a city hall press briefing last Tuesday that DoTr Secretary Arthur Tugade earlier issued a “marching order to pilot test Zamboanga port in the fight against scalping, which is not only a problem here, but in almost all ports nationwide.” The port serves various passenger vessels bound for Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi, carrying hundreds of sea travelers everyday.
