Two diplomats injured in a road accident in Athi River along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway were on Wednesday airlifted to Nairobi Hospital. Their driver Joseph Ogutu is still admitted to Machakos Level 5 Hospital. Botswana High Commissioner to Kenya Duke Lephoko and his driver were treated for minor injuries and discharged on Tuesday night. “The diplomats were rushed to Machakos Level 5 Hospital after the accident. Machakos Deputy Governor Francis Maliti said the patients were transferred to Nairobi not because Machakos Level 5 Hospital lacks the capacity to manage their conditions, but because their kin requested.
