He said his statements on terrorism and suicide bombings were ”doctored and tampered”. His speeches on Peace TV were popular in Bangladesh, but the channel has been banned there after the July 1 attack. ”I did not inspire any terrorist... suicide bombings targeting innocent people are condemnable,” Naik said. Naik shot into the limelight after the July 1 attack on a Dhaka café by Islamist terrorists said to have been followers of his Peace TV.
