PETALING JAYA: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic) says he supports the call for the setting up of a National Education Commission to chart and determine the country's education policy. Dr Ahmad Zahid said at the moment, the Education Services Commission (ESC) only looked at education schemes and not policies. "That is not enough as we want a commission to lead in setting policies to be followed by ministers tasked with the education portfolios in the future," he said. GPMS called on the government to set up a National Education Commission to ensure consistency in carrying out policies. Dr Ahmad Zahid also announced an allocation of RM1mil to GPMS to fund its activities and programmes throughout the year.
