PUTRAJAYA: New Grade UD41 contract medical officers will only need to sit for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia's (SPM) Bahasa Melayu paper to gain employment in the civil service. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the Cabinet has decided to allow medical graduates to sit for the BM examination as a single paper, without having to take other core subjects. This decision came about after the cabinet decided withdraw the relaxation of the BM subject requirement for Grade UD41 contract medical officers today. Zahid said the new appointment of the contract medical officers will be able to sit for the examination beginning this November. "Therefore, the Education Ministry will allow medical graduates to take only the BM paper in June and November," he told reporters today.
