Yumello, a Bristol-based startup brand, has launched a range of nut butters that aim to bring to the “vibrant flavours of the Atlas Mountains to the kitchens of Britain”. The range – Smooth Salted Date Almond Butter, Salted Date Crunchy Peanut Butter, Wild Atlas Almond Butter, and Wild Atlas Peanut Butter (170g jars/ RRP £2.85-£4.95) feature the ingredients and colours of North Africa. Unlike many nut butter producers who use palm oil, Yumello uses argan oil, which celebrates the Berber people of North Africa. Argan oil is rich in essential fatty acids (including omega-3 and-6) and Vitamin E. All the butters are suitable for those on a vegan diet. The brand, founded by Esther and Omar Elhajji, can be found in Harvey Nichols, Revital, Eat 17, Not on the High Street, The Grocery, Panzer’s Deli, cafés and delis around the country and the rest of Europe.
