WHITEHORSE—The Yukon NDP will formally endorse a new leader at its convention in Whitehorse next month. White has represented Takhini-Kopper King in the legislative assembly since 2011. She takes over from Liz Hanson, the member for Whitehorse Centre, who has served as party leader for the last 10 years. The party says in a statement that the new leader’s priorities will be growing the Yukon NDP in preparation for the next territorial election, with an emphasis on making Yukon a more affordable, inclusive and sustainable place for all residents.
