CHANDPUR, March 27, 2026 (BSS) – A 30-year-old man was killed and three others, including a woman, were injured in a head-on collision between an engine-driven trolley and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in the Hajiganj upazila of the district last night. One of the injured passengers, Rina Begum (25), stated that the auto-rickshaw was traveling at high speed. The impact of the collision was so severe that Kibria was thrown onto the road and died on the spot, she added. Local former UP member Faruk said that residents rescued three injured individuals, including the auto-rickshaw driver, and sent them to a hospital. Md Abdur Jabbar, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Hajiganj Police Station, confirmed that the body was sent to the Chandpur Government General Hospital morgue for an autopsy this morning.
