Photo: BSSGAZIPUR, Jan 10, 2026 (BSS) - Joint forces on Friday night arrested a youth along with a foreign-made pistol, ammunition and a magazine during a raid in Maona Bazar area of Sreepur upazila in the district. According to RAB sources, the raid was conducted based on secret information that a group of miscreants was preparing to carry out a robbery in the Maona Bazar area. Acting on the tip-off, joint forces rushed to the spot and arrested Akash with a foreign pistol, bullet and a magazine. Lieutenant Colonel Nafis said Akash was primarily involved in renting out weapons. RAB sources further said Akash has previous cases filed against him, including charges related to weapons and murder, and is currently out on bail in those cases.
