Police on Tuesday recovered the dead body of a youth, who was beaten to death allegedly on suspicion of stealing, from a bush in the Char Shirampur area in Gouripur upazila of Mymensingh. The victim, Sagor Ahmed, 20, was the son of Shipon Miah hailing from Mymensingh’s Natok Ghor Len area. Superintendent of Mymensingh police Syed Nurul Islam told the Dhaka Tribune that the attack took place at a fish hatchery on Monday morning. After being informed by local residents, police recovered the body and sent it to the Mymensingh Medical College Hospital, where the duty doctors declared Sagor dead. According to locals, Sagor used to collect and sell scrap metal.
