An armed gang forcibly took valuables from the house of one Karthik Sethupathi, said to be a descendant of the erstwhile Ramanathapuram rulers, at Alwarpet in Chennai recently. Based on a complaint filed by Mr. Karthik Sethupathi, Chennai City Police arrested five persons from Tirunelveli a few weeks ago and were searching for a few others. As Sudhan locked himself in a room, the police broke open the lock, entered the room and arrested him at gunpoint. “Since Sudhan is carrying a licensed pistol, we had to arrest him at gunpoint,” the police said.
