Serology tests, which measure antibody levels triggered by infection or vaccination, are only available in Canada for specific reasons. In the U.S, the FDA has said it wants more data before they put much weight on the results of serology tests. They’ll be able to see how vaccination is working inside their own bodies — and if their antibody levels are declining. We can learn more about what specific antibody levels can be interpreted as providing strong protection, and how much confidence we can have. Together, governments, public health authorities, scientists, health care providers, industry and patients can unlock useful information about this pandemic: the data that’s in our blood.
