Members of the youth refugee summer programme visit Baldwin St during their tour of Dunedin yesterday afternoon. The former refugees, from Syria and Palestine, visited Signal Hill, the Railway Station and Baldwin St as part of their Youth Refugee Summer Programme. The programme was created last year and is funded by the Otago Polytechnic and Otago Community Trust. The programme taught members to speak English but Miss Ghandour spoke fluent Arabic, supporting those in the early stages of learning. Members of the programme were working with volunteer agencies and volunteered at Shetland St Community Garden.
