This was reached during the conduct of last week’s bilateral meeting between representatives of the Philippines and the United States at the US Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health and Inspection Service (USDA-APHIS) headquarters in Maryland. Bureau of Plant Industry (BPI) Director George Culaste, who also led the Philippine delegation, welcomed the latest development, saying Philippine young coconut producers, especially those in Mindanao, are waiting to tap big export markets such as the United States and China. Philippine Ambassador to the US Jose Manuel Romuladez congratulated both sides for the positive conclusion of their meeting.
