Young South Canterbury cooks win national competitionMYTCHALL BRANSGROVE/FAIRFAX NZ Waimate High School student Ollie Creba, 13, was all smiles after he came first in a national cooking competition. Doritos and grandma's special sweet and sour sauce helped Waimate High School student Ollie Creba​, 13, win a national cooking competition. Creba was one of two South Canterbury young cooks who won sections in the Just Cook Challenge, run by the New Zealand Nutrition Foundation. Creba won the Tegel category of the competition with a new creation: Sweet chilli Doritos coated chicken with sweet and sour sauce, rice and vegetables. New Zealand Nutrition Foundation dietitian Sarah Hanrahan was pleased with the "exciting" combination of different flavours and textures used in the competition.
