Young Kenyans Dominate in New York City Marathon


A new generation of champions was crowned in Manhattan on Sunday, as two young Kenyan runners won the New York City Marathon. At 25 years old, Joyciline Jepkosgei of Kenya became the youngest woman to win the New York City Marathon this century, with a finishing time of 2:22:38. Jepkosgei, who owns the women’s world record in the half marathon, ran much of the race shoulder-to-shoulder with fellow countrywoman Mary Keitany.
