The book, Brigitte Macron, The Liberated Woman, is to be published next week. But Macron would not be the only current French politician to try his hand at adult literature. In 2011, the prime minister, Édouard Philippe, co-authored Dans l’ombre (In the shadows), a political thriller laced with steamy encounters. The finance minister, Bruno Le Maire, has written a novel entitled Le Ministre (The Minister), which includes a steamy scene between the minister and his wife in Venice.
