Former President Mahama has joined the fray but has been quickly warned by the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party to stop attacking the EC by creating an impression, it will be one-sided during the 2020 elections. Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi asserted that the greater works of President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia on Ghana’s economy, were enough to make electorates retain the New Patriotic Party in 2020 and beyond. But Chairman Wontumi noted that the statements by former President Mahama about the EC were “unfounded and reckless”. He stated that “even if former President Mahama’s wife Lordina is made Chairperson of the EC, he would lose miserably.
