Speaking in Nairobi during ‘the Madaraka day’ rally that was held in Uhuru park Nairobi, Odinga said the invitation came late when they had already planned their own rally in Nairobi. “I want to tell the president that it’s not that we refused to join him mark the Madaraka day celebrations in Nakuru, it's only that it came late,” said Odinga. The former Prime Minister and Cord leader Raila Odinga, has dismissed claims that he and the Cord fraternity turned down president Uhuru Kenyatta’s invitation to attend Madaraka Day Celebrations that was marked on Wednesday in Nakuru county. He also noted that their team waited for the Nakuru celebration to end before they started theirs in Uhuru Park. “We are ready to face the government face to face on Monday if it fails to bring a solution to the current IEBC issue,” Wetangula noted.
