The priest singled out Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for praise, noting that the Vice President does not only call for political tolerance but demonstrates it regularly through his actions. “Who would have thought or believed that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia would attend the funeral [the funeral of the mother] of the man who has been ‘attacking’ him? This clearly shows that politics is a contest of ideas, not fights and bloodshed…Vice President Bawumia has really taken politics to a new level,” he noted in his brief sermon. The Vice President led the government’s delegation to the funeral of the mother of the MP for the Bolgatanga Constituency.
