Labour has warned the Federal Government against its decision to remove a staggering 23,089 parastatals pensioners from its pension payroll; saying that it was “glaringly impossible” for a whole 23,089 pensioners on the list to have died. The Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD) has decided to remove names of 23,089 pensioners from its pension payroll; with effect from this month, August 2020 pension payment. The directorate had in an earlier letter written to the President, Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP) Abuja Headquarters inform the NUP of the Federal Government’s decision to yank off the names of the 23,089 pensioners from the payroll. “However, the union was shocked at the staggering figure of 23,089 pensioners about to be yanked off the payroll for various reasons. “Experience over the years has shown to us that it is always easier to remove names from payroll than to restore it.
