The staff at Ani Villas in Koh Yao Noi, an island 40 minutes by speedboat from Thailand’s southern island of Phuket, claims that they can do anything you ask. And without a moment’s hesitation, the staff agreed, set the table for dinner and waded into the pool to serve. They often get families and have experience entertaining guests from young children (the reason that there’s a fast-moving, curving slide leading to the pool) to their grandparents. The eight buildings are constructed to resemble the village temples in northern Thailand so the surroundings are beautiful and cosseting. Fortunately, after our pool experience, we were happy to stay on dry land.
