York Regional Police homicide investigators say that a fire resulting in the deaths of two young brothers was an "accident" after a 10-month probe into the May 2020 blaze that gutted a Markham residence. No one will be charged in the fire that killed two children, police said in a news release Wednesday. The fire started around 10 a.m. on May 10, 2020 and ripped through the Markham family’s home. The fire gutted the home and spread to an adjacent house, York police said. “Through a lengthy and thorough investigation, officers have determined that this incident was accidental and no one has been charged,” York police said in a statement Wednesday.
