York Region Police arrest over 100 men in child sex trafficking bust


York Regional Police have arrested over 100 men for allegedly purchasing prostituted children. Details including the names of the accused and charges have not yet been released, but police say the arrests come after a multi-year investigation by the police force’s Human Trafficking Team. Most of the accused reside in other parts of the GTA and Ontario, but the alleged offences occurred in York Region, police said. Deputy chief Tom Carrique and Det. Thai Truong will be updating the media on the investigation Friday at 11 a.m.Susan Orlando, the provincial co-ordinator of the Ministry of the Attorney General’s human trafficking prosecution, will also attend.
