A Hawaii man pleaded guilty to a federal crime after he attempted to help a newborn bison in Yellowstone National Park, which led to it being rejected by its herd and park staff euthanizing it. Clifford Walters approached a newborn bison calf in Lamar Valley near the confluence of the Lamar River and Soda Butte Creek. In a statement, Yellowstone National Park reminded visitors to stay at least 25 yards away from all wildlife and at least 100 yards away from bears and wolves.
