A yellow alert is up in the Luzon grid as seven power plants are either offline or running at limited capacity, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) said on Tuesday. In an advisory, the NGCP said yellow the alert is up from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. to 2 p.m."Four plants are on unplanned outage and three plants have derated capacities, for a total of 1,522 MW (megawatts) unavailable energy," it added. NGCP said the operating requirement is at 10,924 MW while the available capacity is at 11,067 MW, leaving a net operating margin of 413 MW.
