Yellow alert up anew in Luzon grid — NGCPTHE National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) declared a yellow alert in the Luzon grid on Friday. In its advisory, thr NGCP said the yellow alert will be up from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the country’s largest island. “Details on the cause to be announced by the Department of Energy later in the day,” NGCP said. A yellow alert is raised when reserves are less than the capacity of the biggest plant in the grid, which is 647 MW for Luzon. A yellow alert, however, does not necessarily lead to power interruptions.
