Yasiel Puig Hits 3 Homers as the Dodgers Move Into a Wild-Card Spot

ST. LOUIS — Yasiel Puig has never missed the postseason since making his major league debut in 2013, and he does not plan on ending that run. Puig homered three times on Saturday, giving him five homers in two games, and had a career-high seven runs batted in to help the Los Angeles Dodgers rout St. Louis, 17-4, and move ahead of the Cardinals into sole possession of the second National League wild card. “We want to be back in the playoffs, like every year.” Puig said. Puig raised his season total to 21 home runs with the first three-homer game of his major league career. He became the fourth Dodgers hitter since 2000 with consecutive multihomer games, joining Cody Bellinger, Adrian Beltre and Shawn Green.
