New York Yankees left-hander James Paxton is expected to be sidelined three to four months following back surgery, the team announced Wednesday. According to the Yankees, Paxton underwent microscopic lumbar discectomy and also had a peridiscal cyst removed. The surgery was performed by Dr. Andrew Dossett in Dallas. Paxton posted a 15-6 record with a 3.82 ERA in a career-high 29 starts last season, his first with the Yankees. Paxton has a 56-32 mark with a 3.50 ERA in 131 career starts with the Seattle Mariners (2013-18) and Yankees.
