The Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Wednesday officially declared interest to contest the gubernatorial election in the state for a second term. The governor disclosed his intention at the banquet hall of the Government House, in Lokoja during the inauguration of the Kogi State House of Assembly Commission. He also pointed out that following the official release of the state’s election time table by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), it became necessary to make his intentions known. It would be recalled that Kogi state is one of the states that did not have their governorship election during the last general election in the country. However, INEC had fixed Saturday, November 2, 2019, for the election to enable the people of the state to elect their governor.
