YAYASAN Wilayah Persekutuan (YWP) is considering paying taxi drivers' Self-Employment Social Security Scheme contribution for 2019. YWP chairman Khalid Samad, who is also the Federal Territories Minister said they understood the plight of taxi drivers as their income was badly affected with the rise of e-hailing services. “The sum is about RM17 per month, and with about 10,000 taxi drivers in the Federal Territories. “I have asked YWP chief executive officer Zaizalnizam Zainun to contact Gabungan Taxi SeMalaysia (GTSM) for the exact number of taxi driver who would need assistance. Taxi driver can contact GTSM to be included in the recipient list.
