Keith Williams had 15 points and nine rebounds, Jaevin Cumberland had 14 points and Jarron Cumberland had 11 points and five rebounds for the Bearcats (6-3), who had won three in a row. Cincinnati stole the ball on the next possession but Jaevin Cumberland’s three bounced off and Goodin hit two free throws to ice it. Xavier played through early foul trouble to starters Jones and Paul Scruggs (seven points, three rebounds). Jones, the Musketeers’ leading rebounder, picked up his second foul 4:10 into the game and did not play the rest of the half. Scruggs played six minutes in the half before playing the entire second half.
