In the bars and stands of Sandy Park, Exeter Chiefs provide a warm and heartfelt welcome to their visitors, but they have a habit of turning off the charm on the pitch. Having indulged Glasgow Warriors by allowing them to score ten points in as many minutes at the start, the Chiefs ramped up the power and played a brand of route-one rugby that the Scots struggled to cope with for the rest of the game. The Warriors will rue the loss of the late try that denied them the losers’ bonus point that they probably just about deserved, but they could hardly quibble with the overall result.
