Woulfe-Clarke meeting over golf dinner deferred on ‘medical grounds’

Recently appointed Supreme Court judge, Mr Justice Séamus Woulfe, has sought a postponement on medical grounds of a key meeting to deal with the outcome of the Golfgate inquiry with the Chief Justice, Mr Frank Clarke. In a statement on Tuesday night, however, a spokesman for the Chief Justice said the Chief Justice “has received a request for a further postponement on medical grounds”. The Chief Justice had agreed a delay until Tuesday of next week, the spokesman said. The judges’ delegation, including Ms Justice Iseult O’Malley, Mr Justice Donal O’Donnell and an ex-officio member, the President of the Court of Appeal, Mr Justice George Birmingham.
