The low that brought heavy thunderstorms to the north last night was now siting over Canterbury and Otago. The wild weather that has been lashing the country brought an overdue dumping of snow on Mt Ruapehu last night. "The lows are circling around each other and it means there's a big wall of wind that's about to come into the North Island."
